FAQ's

WHY THAI???

Thai massage is done on a mat on the floor

The client wears comfortable gym or stretchy clothing

Beth can leverage 3x more pressure from the floor using her hands, forearms, knees, and feet. This allows for much deeper, broad work, that feels comfortable to the receiver. No more need for brutal or painful sessions.

Keeping clothing on, allows the client to stay warm and comfortable on the heated mat. Beth can move you around. Sometimes in yoga positions, or sometimes checking range of motion. Her ability to move the body gives her information about where restrictions are occuring. Problems go away faster.

Rhythmic, rocking movements are used to calm the nervous system and bring you back into your body. Many enter a meditative state or even fall asleep.

For all of these reasons, Beth consider's Thai massage as the best service that she can offer. Combining all of these techniques takes time so a 2-Hour Session is recommended.

Does it hurt?

All sessions are custom tailored for you. Every nervous system is different so it is best to communicate with your massage therapist to determine what pressure or stretch feels good to you in that moment. Pressure can be adjusted throughout with a quick thumbs up or down. All stretches will be done according to your current flexibility. You do NOT need to be flexible already but we can improve it. Movement helps the massage therapist to find where restrictions are in real time and work to improve them.

Can I get Massage?

If you are uncertain about your health condition, please reach out. It is important to stay safe and healthy. In cases of fever or infectious illnesses, including a cold, it is best to avoid coming in. Additionally, it is recommended to wait for at least 6 weeks after any surgery, and obtain clearance from a medical professional if you have undergone radiation treatment.

I am capable of working with various conditions such as sciatica, scoliosis, arthritis, carpal tunnel, low back pain, sports injuries, postural problems, and stress-related pain such as headaches, neck and shoulder tension, or jaw pain. I am also able to provide assistance during pregnancy at any stage.

Length of Sessions

Extended sessions can have longer-lasting positive effects compared to shorter sessions. They promote deeper relaxation, leading to improved sleep, reduced anxiety, and increased sense of calmness. Longer sessions facilitate targeted pain relief by working on specific areas more thoroughly. They also promote better blood circulation and lymphatic flow, which contributes to faster healing, reduced inflammation, and overall well-being. Additionally, extended sessions enhance muscle relaxation and flexibility, leading to improved muscle function, range of motion, and reduced tightness.

The 2 or 3-hour Thai is a great way to start your journey towards pain relief.

How often should I come in?

The frequency of therapy sessions can differ based on individual goals. For those experiencing chronic pain, a weekly or bimonthly session can be a good starting point until desired outcomes are achieved. Afterward, a monthly or quarterly session as needed. Beth will assist in developing a plan following the initial session.

Client/Therapist relationship

In order for us to have a successful session, it's important to remember a few things. You have the option to speak or remain silent during the session, and either of us can end the session at any time for any reason. Most importantly, clear communication is essential for a positive experience. Each person's nervous system processes information differently, so please let me know if something feels good. It's important to note that any discomfort should be a positive sensation, as unpleasant sensations may result in additional pain later on.
